NEWS

We opened an Etsy shop!

The pieces sold in our Etsy shop are handmade and crafted with passion by talented artisans from our YMCA's Lakota Artist Entrepreneur Program. These unique pieces are not just jewelry; they are a celebration of culture, heritage and the artistic spirit of the Lakota people. Our program provides a platform for local Lakota artists to showcase their creativity and share their stories with the world.

We have changed our name! Introducing:

YMCA of the Seven Council Fires

Our Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, key staff and community members made up the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force. This group was tasked with creating the new name for this unique YMCA to represent the community as effectively as possible.

Give to Camp

We are inspired by what Leslie Marrowbone envisioned 50 years ago on the shores of Lake Oahe. 1971 is when the Sioux YMCA made its stance to youth development with our first ever summer camp. The years have been unique, not without challenges, but with huge reward.

Thank you to all of our supporters who made the growth of camp possible. We are aiming to raise $50,000 for our campers. Here is a breakdown of what your gift can do for our youth:

$20 - Provides S.T.E.M. and craft supplies to enhance our intentional camp curriculum

$50 - Provides essentials, including sleeping bags, bedding, and toiletries

$100 - Provides 25 healthy and nutritious meals and snacks

$250 - Provides one week of transportation for campers to eliminate barriers

$500 - Scholarships a camper for an amazing week at Camp Marrowbone

$1000 - Scholarships a 2 week Teen Development Participant, includes college visits

Volunteers are a pivotal part in â€‹this community and our organization. They help us better serve the youth of our area. At the Y, we have a place and purpose for you.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

The YMCA's youth programs build on a childs natural curiosity by providing them ample opportunities to explore, dream, and discover.

GIVE

Supporting the Y means that kids can experience new environments and activities, go to camp, enjoy a warm, nutritious meal, and be encouraged by caring, sober, adult role models.
